Its R&D team comprises two on-the-job professional doctors and six on-the-job graduates, with the on-the-job staff with an academic degree above bachelor accounting for over 60% of the workforce. The company is also equipped with domestically leading production and detection equipment. Under the leadership of the group, the company boasts a solid innovation strength and has successively passed several global management system certifications such as TüVTS16949, ISO9001: 2008, ISO14001: 2004 and OHSAS18001.

  With the support of the municipal government, the company introduced Chen Yunbo, an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and his innovation team, established an academician workstation of Guangdong Province for advanced manufacturing technologies of composite material auto parts and components and Guangdong Engineering Technology Research Center for Manufacturing of Auto Parts and Components with Carbon Fiber Composite Materials, undertaken applied research branch of National and Local Union Engineering Research Center of High-Performance Carbon Fiber Manufacture and Application and established the Enterprise Technology Center of Guangdong Province based on research and development of carbon fiber composite materials for vehicles.

  The company has been granted a batch of independent intellectual properties, of which 7 R&D fruits such as “a lightweight rear floor of the car body”, “a composite material with a good resistance to layering”, “a new type of container” and “a wheel fender of carbon fiber composite material” have been granted a national utility model. 11 R&D fruits have applied for a national invention, which have all been accepted and entered the stage of substantial review. 3 R&D fruits have been accepted as national utility models.

  The company has cooperated with organizations such as Guangzhou Automotive Research Institute to develop a large batch of new products for vehicles with carbon fiber composite materials, including rear floor, new-type wheel fender, integration framework, battery pack of special-purpose vehicles, engine hood of SUV, front car lamp cover, rear hydrogen bottle holder and chassis armor. The company has supplied Guangdong Baolong Auto Co., Ltd. with products such as carbon fiber engine hoods and lamp covers; worked with Xi’an Space Composite Material Research Institute to supply a high molecular material company of Luoyang with carbon fiber chassis armor products; worked with Shenzhen Optimum Battery Co., Ltd. to supply composite material battery pack products; and worked with China Aviation Lithium Battery Group to supply battery packs for special-purpose vehicles. At present, it is introducing advanced Industry 4.0 intelligent production equipment from home and abroad and is predicted to realize the industrialization of carbon fiber auto parts and components by the end of 2018.

  Participation in drafting of technical standards is an important measurement of the technical level of an enterprise. Approved by Guangdong Quality and Technology Supervision Bureau, the company has compiled two local standards of Guangdong, namely, Carbon Fiber Composite Material Wheel Fender for Car Body and Carbon Fiber Composite Material Fabric for Interior, Exterior and Skin of Cars; has been involved in the drafting of the national standard High Temperature Alkali Resistance Test Method of Glass Fiber Reinforced Composite Material Bar. Now it is working on the national standard General Technical Requirements on Carbon Fiber Composite Material Cover Parts for Automobile with organizations such as Guangzhou Automotive Research Institute, Harbin Institute of Technology, China Automotive Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd. and China Academy of Machinery Science & Technology. The national standard passed the review and recommendation of TC39 Standard Committee in March and made an application reply to the Standardization Administration of China on July 12, which is now waiting for approval.

  The Several Policy Suggestions on Speeding up Technical Innovation (YF 2015 No. 1 document) issued by the provincial government supported the establishment of innovative research institutions.
